Additional info can be found below in links to articles I have published in the past that focus on natural whole foods that contain compounds which research has shown help to optimize mitochondrial function and/or increase rates of mitochondrial biogenesis.

"The dioxin can be detoxified with a supplement of indole 3 carbinol, which is found in fresh broccoli and a smaller amount still in fresh cabbages. Of course if you want a large amount still, then you can buy supplements which is already available over the internet quite easily."

I recently read a study that mentioned how clarified butter (ghee) was able to extract dioxin since both are fat-based molecules. Fatty fish like mackerel that has tons of DHA, which can help our bodies resolve stress: https://open.substack.com/pub/romanshapoval/p/the-best-brainfood?r=1iykap&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for putting this together. My wife and I live on the Canadian side of Lake Erie but back when the chemical mushroom cloud was burning (and for several days afterwards) we could smell the chemicals on the air. The prevailing winds usually go away from us and towards the states but that switched for a few days so I think it is likely the Lake Erie watershed has been more severely contaminated then the officials will admit. I will be doing soil and water tests ASAP to determine if our town water is compromised yet and if contaminated rain/snow may have fallen here in southern Ontario. I have also been researching natural methods for detoxing the chemicals involved with this incident and will share the research I have gathered so far in a comment below incase it can be helpful to you too.

I noticed how you emphasized the importance of supporting mitochondrial health when attempting to mitigate the damage of the toxins discussed above (and potentially detox some of them). I will post another comment with some links to articles I have published in the past that focus on natural whole foods that contain compounds which research has shown help to increase rates of mitochondrial biogenesis.
