Hello!! New to your subastak. I have hashimoto and vitiligo, probably leaky gut. How much pomegranate powder you think is reasonable to take? Half teaspon twice per day? Thanks!!!

Welcome! This is frog friendly site.

Is it pomegranate juice powder or specifically a peel extract/powder?

Juice powder would be less potent. A half teaspoon twice a day of peel powder should be medicinal, and if that doesn't make you pee extra later that day/night, then it isn't that strong and you could use more of it.

Wakame or kombu seaweed might be specifically helpful for Hashimoto's and I hope you are avoiding all gluten sources - that can be the biggest health need with autoimmune thyroid issues along with taking selenium and Nrf2 promoters like pomegranate juice or peel.

Whenever it says pomegranate peel are they referring to the red part too, or just the white pith?

Most products on the market would be mixed I think. I am fairly unique in my use of the inner pith exclusively in foods and reserving the outer rind for extract or tea use.

I did see a standard method in India is to scrape off all the inner pith from the rind and only use the rind, powdered as a medicinal food in a capsule size dose. I just found the tannin concentration to be too great for my use and/or the outer rind tastes way, WAY more bitter so it isn't as edible. Adding inner pith to cole slaw just seasons it like adding bitter celery seed but you ran out of celery seed.

I found some pom extract powder and some caps when ordering stuff for horse, so I ordered some. Everyone gets green tea and ends up not drinking it, and I think this will be better!! (Purebulk website)
