After a severe case of shingles and subsequent research, I found that stress of any kind, mental or physical, can precipitate a bout of shingles. I also found that taking lysine can prevent shingles and has worked for me as I have never had another outbreak. It has to do with the arginine/ lysine balance in the body. You may want to research this… I found it fasinating.
good to know. I do take some lysine but can overdo nuts/beans balance which is tipping things towards more arginine and less lysine.
