Piccardi is mentioned by Pollack, 2013, and DeMeo, 2019, had a much fuller discussion of Piccardi's findings. *Post too long for email and common sense - but it is short compared to some of my posts.
I scanned this because I really have to go outside right now, but was so excited to see all this information I could not resist. seriously thinking about taking that speed reading class just to keep up with you! and that is just so I can read your posts, not even thinking about reading all the references you have gone through! signed, huge fan.
I read the paragraphs in reverse order! take away - you just can't get too much magnesium... lazy person question: what controls magnesium uptake from the gut, is it tightly regulated like calcium uptake? Spiralling into sleep now...
Vitamin D can increase calcium uptake preferentially but the body kind of expects magnesium to be plentiful in our drinking, bathing water and foods. Modern life has been emphasizing calcium need out of balance to magnesium importance because magnesium seems plentiful in foods compared to calcium. Which is kind of true except for glyphosate reducing mineral content and food processing adding to that. Water is no longer a good source unless spe ual "alkaline water" that is sold now.
Addition - we can get too much magnesium but not from eating or drinking it usually because too much would cause diarrhea. Body dumps vitamin C too if in excess in the gut.

Enjoy your outside time. Read it on the website rather than email. I added a few details and some background info links.
