I quit using Google after the Snowden revelations. I can enthusiastically recommend ProtonMail, which also has ProtonDrive, which is encrypted (as are their emails).
I make a point of deliberately not using any AI tools anywhere. Web searches are gamed, but using AI for research is just another level for fake narratives, propaganda, mis and disinformation to thrive.
This is why we need philosophy again. We need to go by principles which will almost always keep us out of hot water. One principle is Body Autonomy, another one is Free Speech and another one is that information is THE most important thing. Information is wealth. With restrictions on information, we virtually slice our throats. I don't wish to sound dramatic but the results of information being censored is as good as that because it will give all the advantages to the most psychologically diabolical in our midst.
