Google censorship & their expanding role in gene databases via Dr Mercola; and Hijabs & manipulation of Western Women, via Karen Hunt; and BHMT gene & glycine, via me.
Nudging us with what we are given in search results, or which emails show up in the Gmail instead of going to mystery nowhere land.
Dr. Mercola has a new article about why using Google Analytics or other tools is a bad choice, and he suggests to avoid, or ask online businesses whose Privacy Policy says they use it, to stop using it. “Free” products means you are the product who is providing Google with free data which is then saleable to advertisers.
A point that he mentions is emotional manipulation - Google exec has been quoted to say that they know exactly when to place an emotionally manipulative ad in front of teen to catch them at a maximally lonely or down moment - and more susceptible to buying the product. See: Goodbye Google, (mercola.com) (pdf in my sync file)
“While Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act makes free speech possible for everyone, it also allows Google and other online platforms to filter out and censor whatever they want.
The most crushing problem with this kind of internet censorship is that you don't know what you don't know. If a certain type of information is removed from search, and you don’t know it should exist somewhere, you’ll never go looking for it. And, when searching for information online, how would you know that certain websites or pages have been removed from the search results in the first place? The answer is, you don’t.
For example, Google has been investing in DNA repositories for quite a long time, and are adding DNA information to our profiles. According to Robert Epstein, PhD Google has taken over the national DNA repository, but articles about that — which he has cited in his own writings — have all vanished.”
[…reversed order…]
“Robert Epstein, Ph.D., who has spent the last decade of his professional career exposing Google’s manipulative and deceptive practices as a senior research psychologist for the American Institute of Behavioral Research and Technology, has also demonstrated how easily Google can shift our political and societal landscape.
Without Google, the technocrats’ dream of a One World Government would likely never happen, as it relies on social engineering and artificial intelligence. Google is a frontrunner and expert in both, and has the ability to control entire populations.”
- Joseph Mercola, Goodbye Google, (mercola.com) (pdf in my sync file)
This says a lot - if the search engine has removed all mentions of a related topic or website, then how would you ever know it was missing unless you were already familiar with the information or website? And note that Bing is not better based on my post about missing magnesium information - if the majority of ‘approved’ information sites are all saying the same thing, then it can seem like that thing is correct, and represents all known information - but that could be very, very wrong. AI use is going to lead to same info being repeated by many people in their varied uses - AI help for blog posts, courses, ebooks, advertisements, art, business plans.
High blood pressure and insulin resistance and high blood sugar can directly be symptoms of chronically low magnesium but online info didn’t share that information in a way that the Bing AI saw it as a “symptom of magnesium deficiency”. When all the clearly posted information is lacking key points, then it is disinforming readers.
Related concern is the manipulation of public opinion - make it seem as if supporting an individual female’s right to wear a hijab means it is right for it to be required by a nation too.
The Insanity of Western Women Defending Oppression, by Break free with Karen Hunt:
Gmail being filtered?
Many people use Google’s free Gmails but Dr. Mercola has found that his subscribers who use Gmails may only be receiving about half of his emailed posts compared to subscribers who are using a free Proton mail account. See: (proton.me/mail) Dr. Mercola also points out that all of your files and gmails and other data on Google services will be retained by them, even if you “deleted” it. They still have a copy.
Dr. Mercola’s action steps for de-Googling your life:
Swap out your browser — Uninstall Google Chrome and use Brave or Opera instead. Everything you do on Chrome is surveilled, including keystrokes and every webpage you've ever visited. Brave is a great alternative that takes privacy seriously.
Switch your search engine — Stop using Google search engines or any extension of Google, such as Bing or Yahoo, both of which draw search results from Google. Instead, use a default search engine that offers privacy, such as Presearch, Startpage, DuckDuckGo, Qwant and many others.
Use a secure email — Close your Gmail account and switch to a secure email service like ProtonMail. If you have children, don’t transfer their student Google account into a personal account once they’re out of school.
Switch to a secure document sharing service — Ditch Google Docs and use another alternative such as Zoho Office, Etherpad, CryptPad, OnlyOffice or Nuclino, all of which are recommended by NordVPN.3
*Sync.com is also an encrypted document sharing service. It is a little slower to view your documents than my unencrypted Dropbox.
Delete all Google apps from your phone and purge Google hardware. Better yet, get a de-Googled phone. Several companies now offer them, including Above Phone.
Avoid websites that use Google Analytics — To do that, you’ll need to check the website’s privacy policy and search for “Google.” Websites are required to disclose if they use a third-party surveillance tool. If they use Google Analytics, ask them to switch!
Use a secure messaging system — To keep your private communications private, use a messaging tool that provides end-to-end encryption, such as Signal.
Use a virtual private network (VPN) such as NordVPN or Strong VPN — This is a must if you seek to preserve your online privacy.
Don't use Google Home devices in your house or apartment — These devices record everything that occurs in your home, both speech and sounds such as brushing your teeth and boiling water, even when they appear to be inactive, and send that information back to Google. The same goes for Google's home thermostat Nest and Amazon's Alexa.
Don't use an Android cellphone, as it’s owned by Google.
Ditch Siri, which draws all its answers from Google.
Don't use Fitbit, as it was recently purchased by Google and will provide them with all your physiological information and activity levels, in addition to everything else that Google already has on you.”

I would need to make a lot of changes. I have appreciated the convenience of Google features and I have always had Android cellphones. I have been using Brave but also use Google and Bing.
Checklists can be handy to see the variety of things that may be involved in a topic.
I have never used a Fitbit or gotten in a habit of asking Siri anything - but how to turn it off? I haven’t done that either and I was given a new name by the thing -during a tense conversation, I dramatically said “I am Going to sleep under the trees.” and the phone voice breaks in with “Would you like me to refer to you as “Going to sleep under the trees.” I said “Yes” and the name is still stored in my data and it pops up very occasionally with automated comments to remind me of that night and of a listening phone. Privacy? What was that again?. I did go sleep in my car in a wooded area that night.
BHMT Gene (*This was a draft post where I had saved this little glycine blurb I had written in a comment somewhere.)
Glycine is calming. We could all use a little more calm in modern life.
BHMT is the enzyme needed to convert TMG to DMG. You might see TMG because it is involved maybe.
See this post, (Substack) (transcendingsquare.com):
The BHMT gene is also involved in production & breakdown of some cannabinoids. (Substack) (transcendingsquare.com) *Random aside, when a post says it is by “Jenny”, that means I initially had posted it on my transcendingsquare.com site.

I quit using Google after the Snowden revelations. I can enthusiastically recommend ProtonMail, which also has ProtonDrive, which is encrypted (as are their emails).
I read this several years ago, and felt it was so important I printed it out. Just in case. https://medium.com/insurge-intelligence/how-the-cia-made-google-e836451a959e

I make a point of deliberately not using any AI tools anywhere. Web searches are gamed, but using AI for research is just another level for fake narratives, propaganda, mis and disinformation to thrive.
