I just saw this. I wanted to say that I appreciate you. I am an herbalist (North American, primarily) and I understand where you are coming from, even if it is a different axis or focus from mine -- it dovetails nicely. I hope you will keep writing, just as you have been; do not self-censor. Just put it out there and your audience will find you. Not everyone has ears to hear, and I suggest that you do not change a thing.

Thanks, I will try to regain my mental footing. Confidence or something.

The Gut Microbiota-Brain Axis during Aging, Mild Cognitive Impairment and Dementia: Role of Tau Protein, β-Amyloid and LPS in Serum and Curli Protein in Stool

This immensely important paper presents compelling data on the connection between the gut microbiota and Alzheimer's disease (AD), a type of dementia. The study conducted on elderly adults and Wistar rats demonstrates an intriguing link between certain proteins and bacteria in the gut, and cognitive impairment and dementia.

The key research findings provide a plausible mechanistic link between gut microbiota alterations and Alzheimer's disease.

With aging, the study found significant increases in tau protein, β-amyloid, and LPS (lipopolysaccharide) - all known contributors to the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Notably, these increases were found to be associated with an increased abundance of E. coli that produce the amyloid protein curli. Curli, as the study suggests, might promote the aggregation of amyloid proteins, a characteristic feature of Alzheimer's disease.

Furthermore, the study revealed an interesting finding from preclinical experiments on Wistar rats. The rats showed an increase in the abundance of curli protein in the brain with aging, implying that this protein, which is linked with certain gut bacteria, could make its way to the brain and potentially contribute to neurodegenerative processes.

These findings represent a significant step towards understanding the role of the gut microbiota-brain axis in the development of Alzheimer's disease.

The observation that cognitive impairment and dementia could be partially attributed to gut microbiota alterations provides a promising new direction for further research and therapeutic strategies.

Personally I am interested in information, what works or doesn’t, helps or hurts, heals or makes me sick more than worrying about getting my feelings hurt!!! I believe you should put out what you want that works best for you and the majority of your audience and realize there will always be someone to complain or get hurt by something you say when the other thousand have no problems with it! I used to work for Kentucky OSHA and did training classes on helping people understand the OSHA regulations and I would get hundreds of written course evaluations turned in at the end of my classes and everyone of the people Would give me a 100% positive score and write in the comments things like, “greatest course I have been to on this subject! You really made it easier to understand what is required and loved your sense of humor!” “Great talk, you really made a boring topic interesting and easier to understand!” “Loved, loved, loved the class, keep up the good work!” On and on they would say things like that... Then there would be one person to write, “Whet a waste of my time!!! Worst 2 hours of my life you obviously have never taught a course before! And just stick to the subject matter and stop trying to be funny!!!” One out of 123 people would write that!!! I would wonder if they were even in the same class as all the others that took it! And it would just tear me up; that one person who obviously did not see things the way the other 123 people did!!! I finally learned that there are just sone people that no matter what you tell them or they hear from you they will not like it or be happy about it!!! Oh well...!

Going through the Covidiot planned Scamdemic caused me to loose any of the little faith I had in Western Medicine, Doctors, Scientists and Nurses that participated in the charade!!! I will not go to see a Doctor or visit a Hospital unless dying and then I may still just take my chances at home! They seem to only be good at Emergency medicine like mending broken bones and stopping bleeding from a wound or treating heart attacks with surgery if an artery is completely blocked but they sure as hell no nothing about diet, nutrition and a lot of disease cause and progression!!!

I have noticed a big push in the field of gut biome being the new cause of every illness and social disorder and am wondering if it is really a new recognition or just a push into a new money making field for them!!!

At 57 years old I have learned and know a few things! One is your diet is very important to your health and how you feel! Yet the foods a lot of people eat in America are trash at best! I really believe processed foods, artificial sweeteners and high fructose corn syrup are killing us!!! Exercise is the other most basic but important parts to our lives and again it is another aspect which most Americans are sorely lacking in!!! So any is not I can find on proper nutrition and supplements and increased attention to my fitness regime is always appreciated!

I also have come around to believing all the EMF/Wi-Fi and other electronic zapping being done to us is bad for us and killing us; more than we probably want to know!!! I believe we will soon start seeing more and more health defects from all they are zapping us with!!!!

Which leads to my last point that I believe one area we in the West have missed out on in our health is the Eastern medicine ideas of our personal energy fields, Xi or chi energy and how we get blocked up or out of balance in certain ways! I would venture that a lot of chronic disease and late adult onset disease like Alzheimer’s might benefit from balancing our energy fields and/or zones, meridians, etc. with proper Eastern Medicine techniques!!!

Just sone ramblings from an old man...

Thanks, and yes, you are on target.

Microbiome is important and involved in most everything else so the research is overdue, but some is probably hopping on a trend too. Where the grant money is.

I do well with BLUNT.

Also, beginning some understanding the role of the gut microbiota-brain axis in the development of Parkinsons. I have 3 of 5 major prodromal conditions. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/does-parkinsons-begin-in-the-gut/

In the same way that one autoimmune diagnosis is often the beginning of a constellation of symptoms, then given another two or three or five diagnoses, I also feel certain that there are certain basics for all neurodegenerative prevention. I am "floxed" with permanent Fluoroquinolone Acquired Disabilities which no doctor I've found is even willing to admit exists. So, I'm doing my best at mitochondrial repair. Lovin your content and a fair amount of knowledgeable comments.

Everyone please keep links comin.

Yes, protect mitochondrial DNA.

If you saw and are interested in the Akkermansia product, it is back in stock on Fullscript. Brand is Pendulum, I think. I had a post.

Any thoughts on essential tremors? Mine are heading in the same direction as my mums which will be very inconvenient but there seems to be scant research on the subject. I instinctively feel it’s got a nutritional micro biome root cause. But that’s as far as I’ve got.

I have a neighbor who got rid of her lifelong issue when she learned of high dose B2 I think. Riboflavin. She takes it daily and the hand tremor was normalized. I should ask her to be sure but I think it was riboflavin. We do need that in the methylation cycles somewhere. FAD+

like a buddy of NAD+ 🤔

Have you heard of Functional Medical Practiitoners? They might be the ones to work out this situation. They do lots of tests.

MIght want to check out Ronald Grisanti, FMU (Functional Medical University), very knowledgeable.
