Fullscript client link included. N-acetylglucosamine and a new 2023 niacin review article are the science treats. Pudding and microbiome support are still the dessert of choice.
I disagree with whole grains being beneficial. Many many people I know have had health problems when eating whole grains, especially whole wheat, wheat, and brown rice. Problems went away when they stopped eating whole grains.
Resistant starches like root vegetables are great.
Tapioca pudding with coconut milk is delicious! Will put cardamom in it next time.
Individual intolerances are a problem, and make things lengthy to write cautions about. You are correct. I have to eat white rice now but avoid all gluten products whole or refined. I use a mix of whole grain sorghum, millet, and garbanzo bean flour with some tapioca starch and maybe some thing else. Chestnut flour or coconut flour, blanched almond meal flour. I try to go moderate carb and add protein where I can.
That is a lot of pomegranate peel. If you feel okay doing it for six months then it may work for you. It is a strong diuretic in larger amounts. // Your other questions are very specific and more than I could get into. I buy from varied brands but read labels carefully for all the capsule or other ingredients. I don't want to buy and take commercial gelatin capsules, or titanium dioxide whitener. I haven't found a brand that consistently never has either. Read labels!
Growing everything you need would be difficult. Add in learning your local plants and wildcrafting some herbs or other foods too for variety and that might help.
Sorry to pick yr amazing brain again, but do u say that Vit C 1000mg a day is safe?
I thought in previous article few weeks ago? You said you take 100mg a day as more is prooxidative) and hence should only be increased during Covid infection etc
Wonder if that was a typo as I stopped taking my 925 mg a day as per flccc as figured it was too much
Was the 100 mg a typo?
I can't recall which article I read ..
Lastly would u recommend quercitin 500 mg daily or just if Covid hits ..
And might taking big doses melatonin10-20 mg nightly be stopping our own glands from producing melatonin ,,for life?
That may have been the impression whatever I wrote gave but what I meant was there is no need and it can be risky to do the super high dose vitamin C.
1000 mg/day is unlikely to be a pro-oxidant risk on average I would think, but might upset a sensitive gut like mine. I used to take a 1000 mg. Some people recommend 5000-10,000-15,000 mg - that would be a cancer treatment dose. Does that help?
Part 2 - quercetin daily should be okay. I cut back because of niacin protocol and timing. We use a lot of melatonin in our mitochondria. So if you take it during the day with the niacin protocol it doesn't interfere with sleep in my own experience. I don't take it at bed. I use an eye cover and as dark a blackout curtain night as possible.
Thanks so much for all this Jennifer! I trust yr opinion much on vitamins and health. You are so wise on so much ,you sound like doc or scientist! ( and no worries I won't hold you accountable for giving medical advice heheh here in Canada we don't sue like y'all there!

Can a person grow the food enough to supply everything in this day and age?
