Aids include: astaxanthin, Rustyback fern, and our favorites quercetin, luteolin and vitamin C, and celery is a good source of luteolin and promotes detoxification.
"Maybe moderation is what I can eat." Like everything else in life. Don't worry about the veggies, legumes and breads, eat them.
"Thanks for the suggestion Nattering Naybob!" - Your welcome.
"One of my elevated labs recently was a uric acid level above 7 (but below 8, it was 7.4 maybe)." Cut back on the Niacin to 700 good start, get it down to <200.
Re: Ceterach Tea: one tablespoon level, twice a day, lunch - late afternoon, after 20 days the kidneys should be reprogrammed. Go 1 month, retest uric acid levels.
You're stuck in Brazil? or is that a metaphor for my try to be moderate diet?
Problem is that I am not a very moderate human being. I have been working on improving self-regulation.
I have my niacin down to 400 mg now and seem to be doing okay, or better even.
I really do have to avoid histamine foods though and the salicylate rich sources. I seem able to have a little of salicylate spices as long as I'm avoiding the Nutritional Yeast Flakes and I think the sourdough bread was setting off histamine and salicylate issues for me. Life is better when my brain can think well. Facts.
I've been making the tea fairly strong. The fern fronds are whole so there is a lot of stem. I am probably using more than a tablespoon but I make a teapot or two with it. It is a diuretic, . And the lavender tastes good. I hadn't tried that yet, it was a recent purchase.
JD - As always excellent sleuthing. "You're stuck in Brazil? or is that a metaphor for my try to be moderate diet?" No and No.
New Rules: Moderation & Less Is More. Get NIA down to 200, B9 400mcg. Astaxanthin 4mg (pink lobster, flamingo) = source algal + krill. Can be a PPAR agonist or antagonist TBD.
More? Vitamin C. Uric Acid is a powerful AO and immune system ingredient. If the body "thinks" not enough C, it can compensate by upregulating UA. Blunt this w/C.
AM Bifidis yogurt w/1 teaspoon sunflower lecithin powder (choline substrates), chase with shot of Kefir. PM EAT BEFORE 8PM - later means rather than rebuilding while sleeping, your too busy digesting. Assist? Post dinner last man down: probiotic w/lactobacillus min 1B cfu to "wash" down stomach acid.
I have started cutting my folate tablets in half which would be roughly 500 mg minus any crumbles.
I have phosphatidylcholine oil and citicoline as supplements. Probiotic fermented foods really set off my histamine excess. I have some probiotic capsules products for butyrate species but could add the lactobacillus type.
Not eating late at night is an issue I need to work on. Very true. 😕
I have lots of 1000 mg vitamin C but sm concerned that might be too much and add to acidity or pro-oxidant problems. I have been using a lower dose, 125 mg, maybe a couple times a day.
Add the lacto as mentioned, eat early, cut the C's in half and add 500mg to your current daily dose. With B9 you mean 500 MCG not MG? A high folate intake can mask B12 deficiency until its neurological effects become irreversible. Abnormally nucleated erythrocytes are the primary clinical sign of folate or vitamin B12 deficiency.
