I was a beekeep for like 7-8 years experimenting with overwintering here in the cold climate. Had one type overwinter for like 5 of those years. One placement of three hives all died in a few days, most of them just lay in front of the hive twitching. Then I noticed all the weeds turning brown leading towards an agribusiness field. I caught someone there a few days later planting seeds an I asked what pesticide they used of which he replied it was a preemergent herbicide. I looked it up and in the warning portion it advised not allowing any domesticated farm animals in the area for 30 days.
I talked to the farmer who freaked out nearly screaming just more BS for him to deal with. I dropped it, here in Wisconsin taking on the dairy people is to commit suicide. They are killing everything with those sprays and when nearly everything is dead only then they will lose the power.
