Thank you Doc, two questions for you when you have a few moments:

a). Your thoughts on Life Extension Super K product?

b). Would the product you have referenced in this article be useful in augmenting cortical bone in patients who have suffered extensive bone loss owing to periodontal or silent root canal infections? For example, incorporating it into the brushing routine to stimulate bone growth?

I need to update the article regarding the powder supplement - it is too high in calcium and phosphorus to be beneficial. The Life Extension Mega K2 would be a better source. (45 mg)

The Super K has a couple grams of K, but only 100 mcg of K2. https://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item02334/super-k

FYI I tried returning the K2 ($150) and the Amazon system told me it was not “returnable”, so I got on the CS Amazon Chat and complained and the CS person gave me full credit and said “no need to return it”.

You might try complaining. They may do the same for you.

Now I have this K2 that I cannot use….Do you think I should just throw it away? Is it good for anything? 😆

Depending on your total calcium and phosphorus load/intake, using tiny amounts might be more helpful than not, but ???? I may use small amounts of what I bought and drop other calcium supplements, however the phosphorus is a problem too.

I bought it from bulksupplements directly and haven’t asked yet.

Sorry for the misdirection/bad recommendation.

Doc, can this powder be used for augmenting cortical bone (e.g. brushing with it) to reverse severe dental bone loss? Maybe use it with a few other natural ingredients and xylitol to prepare tooth powder?

tooth brushing with it might support a healthy mouth microbiome.

Interesting thought. I am keeping my bag, as returning things is work too. I used a little in my cheerful juice mix since it is an anticaking agent, and the powder mix does tend to clump. I kept it in the low dose amount though to keep the phosphorus and calcium lower.

Wowza…My 250gms of Bulksupplements K2 was arriving tomorrow morning! I was just able to cancelled it!

I have been looking for bulk K2 for along time. I was taking “Koncentrated K” for a while but it was too expensive. It was by far the highest dose.

Shame on Bulk Supplements!

Thanks for the update Jennifer! 🙏

You're welcome. I will keep looking as it seems like it could really help.

Are you planning on using what you ordered? I also ordered some and it has already shipped.

Irony... or it is a diabolical plot.... the very item that could help reduce calcification is being sold mixed with a gob of calcium and phosphorus. ARRRGH

Dicalciumphosphate is often used as a filler/non-caking agent.

sorry, for misdirecting you. I may try to return what I bought. I got a largish bag, not cheap, but I opened it. I will have to ask about returns. I have to consider the calcium/phosphorus load on acidity issues. It could make things worse.

Two grams of the powder would be giving ~ 460 mg of calcium, 455 mg of phosphorus and only 20 mg of vitamin K2 - so the 45 mg K2 Life Extension product would be better than that. Too much phosphorus is part of being over acidic and having demineralizing tooth enamel. ....I think I made a mistake in not reading more carefully initially. It had seemed like a great find. too excited

*Thanks, I updated the post with this info and my concern about even using it. And added that healthy gut microbiome may need to be the approach - heal the gut and let the microbes make the vitamin K2 for us.

Natto is a rich source but would be a histamine fermented food, so I can't use that.
