Qi Gong is an exercise style found to improve the energy flow and strength of a person's aura. Mitochondria are likely affected by this energy flow or lack of flow.
I have been practicing Tai Chi (similar to Qigong but more martial arts oriented) for 4 years now and I can only recommend it to everyone. If you find a good teacher it is great to improve this palpable energy flow, in my opinion due to improved body alignment, awareness and fine motor skills. For the latter I would even say it's better than the type of Yoga which is conventionally practiced (I had been doing yoga for 11years and thought I had already a good body awareness, but Tai Chi has gotten me to another level).
