In being encouraged by the ‘Woke’ movement to be more open, inclusive and sharing of mental health or other issues . . . what I found is that people really don’t want to know. TMI - it is simply more detail than they want, and add to their stress load, and may leave a more uncomfortable tension in future interactions - or there may not be future interactions. On the other hand, reaching out can find people who are interested, supportive, or seeking tips for their own struggles.
Patient forums are very active online, however, I fear from their glossy beauty, easy to use interface, and moderators that may limit some types of comments —- that the beautiful sites are pharma funded and the ‘patient forum’ may be guiding people towards acceptance of meds as the answer and B vitamins as some sort of risky thing. They can affect unstable moods and should not be used individually in high doses as I’ve seen some of the patient forums. Anyone who takes a bucketload of only one player on a baseball team is going to have a mess rather than a functioning team.
I liken high dose niacin as giving the rest of the team extra baseballs to play with - but you still need to supplement the team somewhat too. When asking the body to increase inflammation removal, you need to provide the range of nutrients needed for detoxification and antioxidant support.
Is sharing my health history playing a ‘victim card’ or seeking sympathy? No, it is sharing survivor stories and maybe some tips that might help others who have confusing chronic issues. If you genetically can’t do something, then, you can’t do it for all of your life. The mitigating supplements or strategies need to be daily for life, or close.
The other aspect of ‘sympathy’ or ‘victim card’ - I am just describing my norm - you all are the weirdos who can color for a long time without your hand falling asleep on the job - that is my norm - lifelong history. I was an adult, blogger, reading more on the topic when I learned it was a genetic thing that does not happen to everyone. Oh.
Odd. How nice for you. It is not my norm. I have to pace myself and vary my activity to not have my body parts get cramped up or pins and needles numb from lack of motion, or too much repetitive motion.
I’ll be dancing down the street, because my body likes and needs varied motion. That is a survivor card, not a victim card.
Good morning. I took the day off yesterday, it was nice.
