Am I alone in taking it quite literally?

What an awesome analysis. The video of the dude going through the examples really brought it home. Earworm or Feedback loop?

Often, Kamala Harris, when talking to a particular crowd, will assume a crowd specific colloquial accent, wording, and phrasing. It is obviously involuntary on her part. I submit that this is because, her immediate experience of events about her, at any given time, contextualizes everything for her and she acts and talks accordingly - no filter, just stimuli in and reaction words out. This process is not mediated or filtered in any meaningful way. And this is great because it makes her adaptable and responsive to any particular audience or setting. However, when she is unprepared for a question, she will answer as best she can, and to do so, she must turn inward to her knowledge, which if unprepared is likely lacking. Thus internalized, she looses her connection with external context, and lacking anything but her own voice and words, she will repeat the same but in different ways. She has thus become her own Earworm. Think Feedback Loop like when you have the radio on and call up the radio host.
