The obese are more at risk for hospitalization or dying of CoV, link; leptin would be part of the risk.

Who's Actually Dying With Covid? The Obese. (substack.com) . . . but it isn’t being discussed. Instead the fear and pressure for all age vaccines occurred. The article reviews the history without addressing why the obese are more at risk.
Leptin could be a reason. It is inflammatory and made by adipose and other tissues that would be inflamed and responsive during an infection.
See this post for more about the cytokine like actions of leptin and ultra-processed foods is a focus of the article, but the leptin section is from my pomegranate paper.
Leptin resistance increased by ultra-processed food diet...experts probably puzzled...it is lack of bitter phytonutrients and/or zinc deficiency. (substack.com)
Clue as to what can help:
and zinc.

Have you considered Fractalkine? It is a cytokine receptor on monocytes that traffics other inflammatory cytokines when activated. Dr. Bruce Patterson found infected monocytes in long haulers, that get into the brain from the spleen and convert to macrophages which cannot toggle between inflammation and anti-inflammation and release fractalkine and fibrin. This might explain those strange blood clots that do respond to blood thinners. Fractalkine signalling from the brain is involved in control of sugar.
