The Manipulated Mind, book pdf
A book about brainwashing - political conditioning; by Denise Winn, 1983.
“Joost Meerloo calls it [brainwashing] 'political conditioning' and claims: 'Political conditioning should not be confused with training, persuasion, or even indoctrination. It is more than that. It is taming. It is taking possession of both the simplest and the most complicated nervous patterns of man... The totalitarian wants first the required response from the nerve cells, then control of the individual and finally control of the masses.' (From Mental Seduction and Menticide.)” - Denise Winn, The Manipulated Mind, 1983. (pdf) via bss.org archives on Telegram.
Fear or other strong emotions can increase susceptibility to hypnotic style tactics or placebo/nocebo effect. Elevated dopamine at a rock concert or political rally or protest, or holiday shopping, may all increase dopamine and chances of subliminal messaging sinking into the psyche.
Adequate magnesium and B vitamins could be protective as they are used up more during stress and can have calming effects on anxiety or fear.
#book - looks good, sharing for now, skimmed briefly.
Chinese brainwashing of US soldiers taken prisoner - a significant percent converted to support of communism, more than British soldiers or Turks.
“Several psychological experts who examined the American soldiers who were repatriated from Korea concluded that brainwashing was not a new technique but the clever combination of many, each familiar and comprehensible on its own.”
How it was done, based on interviews of survivors describing their experiences - this is the summary of some more horrific detail. Isolation and deprivation were factors:
“Schein saw the Chinese tactics as working, in so far as they did, because of the following reasons. The soldiers first had to contend with immense and debilitating physical privations. In this weakened state, they had to cope with the severe psychological pressure of fear that they would never be repatriated at all or that they would die or suffer terrible reprisals. They were also in a position where their normal beliefs, values and attitudes were consistently being undermined by their captors, thus preventing their maintaining a strong and constant sense of self. The confusion induced could in no way be alleviated by validating themselves against their peers, as group ties were systematically destroyed. Each man was alone to question his role in life. Mutual distrust, fostered by the known existence of informers and the feared existence of informers where perhaps there were none, could only confirm each man in his isolation. The confusion, if it became insupportable, could be alleviated in one sure way: collaboration with the Communists. For that was the only 'certainty' on offer.
The Chinese, for their part, consolidated their gains by other specific psychological tactics. They used repetition to break a man down, making their demands and accusations over and over again until, worn out, prisoners gave in. They operated a careful pacing of demands, starting with trivial requests and gradually working up to the highest demands. They forced the prisoner to participate in his own conversion. Listening quietly to lectures was never enough, the man had to make responses, verbally or in writing. Finally, by couching their indoctrination in the guise of a plea for peace, the Chinese were able to appeal to the all too worn down and war weary soldier.
Schein's view was that no one stress is entirely responsible or overly responsible for the breakdown that can lead to so called brainwashing. Drs Lawrence Hinkle Jr and Harold Wolff have asserted, however, that the Chinese made a concerted effort to produce particular emotions in a particular order, which then led to capitulation and collapse. They listed them in an article in the Bulletin of the New York Academy of Medicine in September 1957. The emotions to be aroused were:
awareness of being avoided;
feelings of unfocused guilt;
fear and uncertainty;
great need to talk;
utter dependence on anyone who befriends;
great need of approval of interrogator;
and increased suggestibility.
This all culminated in confession, rationalisation of confession and final profound relief.”
[*Numbered list is an addition to emphasize the downward emotional spiral - see this graphic https://www.innersherpa.org/content/what-are-your-current-whereabouts-emotional-spiral.] The POWs would be given extra food or privilege for cooperating and might be made leaders. Other soldiers would lose trust and the person who seemed to cooperate would become more isolated and likely to continue cooperating with the Chinese guards.
We are being isolated and conditioned to accept more and more change as the norm and occasionally rewarded to encourage the acceptance. LockDown was a Chinese strategy that the WEF/WHO/CDC etcetera, embraced.
Integrity is about not following trends just to be trendy - not following the group just to fit in better with the group. The list of progressive emotions shows a slide into the hopeless and helplessness of victimhood and being under the thumb of a narcissistic abuser/emotional manipulator.
Soldiers are now trained in ways to resist succumbing to a POW situation. The Duluth Model for use with domestic violence (female victims initially) is helpful for better understanding and navigating any type of relationship that seems emotionally manipulative - or for teaching skills that child-you/me may not have been taught or seen modeled. Talk to your kids suggests Igor Chudov in a post about the new Canadian policy to promote euthanasia for mentally ill or physically disabled people. Symbolism from a banned online LARP that promoted suicide in vulnerable teens was used in an ad for the Canadian policy. Creepy "Blue Whale" Suicide Symbol is Openly Glorified - and was Banned Before (substack.com) Arm your children to resist devaluing tactics or other manipulation by letting them know stuff happens to everyone and it hurts and you eventually get over it.
Isolation is not fun, humans are social creatures, but if ‘keeping up with the Jones’ means staying quiet about increasing crime against humanity and nature, then the Jones (the trend setting media) are not good company.
Somewhat related - we need to get our spiritual houses in order. The signs of the Book of Revalation are evident. Signs are in the sky. Division at this time and focus on current plans is not the best plan is Patriarch Kirill’s recommendation. https://www.rt.com/russia/410418-orthodox-patriarch-warns-parish-end/
A movie about human trafficking but fictionalized. A Child’s Voice, No Restrictions, and a video by the director sharing his awakening to the depths of child abuse and Satanism in Hollywood and internationally. Milo Yiannopolous speaking in a video clip regarding vulnerable children gaining from a relationship with a pedophile - listen rather than only being repulsed. What he is saying about children who are lonely, abused or neglected can be very true and similar to the emotional downward spiral - leaving a child eager to love anyone and believe anyone who is at all nice to them. (https://t.me/deNutrientsChat/22939) My big point in sharing it is awareness and the suggestion that if we truly want to end pedophilia/child abuse then we need to spend more money on supporting children - more money on daycares and their employees and supporting two parent homes with a living wage for a decent number of hours work. Two working parents is not really good for kids, or at least younger children and grade school children. Families and children do need a village, a safe and loving village, to help raise and guide them.
Some other video had Yuval (sp?) maybe had the opinion that human children are the most useless beings on the planet. Think of them as an orchard to be nurtured long enough for it to bear fruit. The saplings need time and guidance and careful pruning to help direct their growth and give them time to mature physically in the brain to more controlled decision making capability. Children are our future tax-payers, caregivers, fire-fighters, and leaders. They are also our future prisoners, mentally ill, or criminally at large. How we help children and how we treat families does have direct impact on which direction children may develop. Nature counts but so does nurture.
