I was so busy yesterday with yard clean up after a storm that I failed to notice a tree went down. If no one saw it did it make a noise? Yes. Mom told my dad that lightning had hit the house. It didn't.
The tree fell the other direction, thankfully for her bedroom, the nearest room to the be tree.
The shingles are hard to see. I tried again.
Trying not to scratch is easier with less itchiness. It also takes distraction and maybe consciously reminding yourself that scratching makes it worse. It feels good probably temporarily like self injury, an endorphin rush, but it feels much worse later and more likely to get worse.
I have had a long history of eczema which is more common for people with endocannabinoid deficiency. My BHMT gene allele leaves me deficient without an external source of cannabinoids. See my Substack post Eugenics over time, for more about the BHMT gene and endocannabinoids.
Eczema taught me to - not scratch the itch even if it feels good at the time.
Extra pic that I found today, my younger monkey self.

That tree is really something! So glad it missed the house.
You were a really cute kid! Still cute!
Hope your shingles remiss immediately!
