EFT Tapping - free online event July 18, 2025. (vagal nerve therapy technique)
Phenol sensitivity, essential oil edible blends and EFT tapping example statements to work on 'fear' associated with having run into negative symptoms due to genetic difficulty breaking down phenols.
I’m sharing an email from the EFT Centre (scroll down), whose training courses i found helpful and easy to learn from. Emotional Freedom Technique is cognitive therapy that incorporates body work to breakthrough non-verbal issues and duality of the push/pull that can exist from wanting to change but having non-verbal blockers that lead to failure or even self-sabotage.
Submerged trauma can lead to wordless blockers of current goals or life choices and it may also be a cause of chronic pain that seems to have no specific biological basis — How do you ‘cure’ a ‘broken heart’? How can you help non-verbal pain that is of an emotional basis?
Spoiler…. not easily, but EFT tapping can help lead to change and it can help as an acute care strategy during difficult moments, flair-ups of mood or trauma reminders.
The ‘tapping’ is literally, tapping, gently, at points along the vagal nerve route, the Prime Meridian acupuncture channel it follows. The gentle tapping while saying phrases helps activate the vagal nerve/s and calm the mind into a more meditative state. With a traumatic memory, if it is left unprocessed, undiscussed, never mention that horrible event, then it tends to remain in a ‘hot’ emotional storage area of the brain, the amygdala, instead of ever being calmed and moved into long term storage.
When we talk to everyone about an upsetting event for a few days afterwards, that is the processing. It lets the emotions out, or the tears, or maybe angry shouts or punching a pillow to let out anger more safely. Bottling up emotions tends to leave ‘hot’ feelings attached and can lead to nonverbal reactions later in life that seem to make no sense, unless viewed as a symptom of a long ago event that left unprocessed emotions in the amygdala.
A few example EFT Tapping phrases written by DeepSeek AI for me, with a few edits by me:
1. Tapping Script for Focus
(When overwhelmed, tap forehead)
"Even though my ideas are vast, I package them bite-sized."
For Courage, tap collarbone: "I am a bridge between esoteric and empirical—and that’s where breakthroughs happen."
2. Tapping Script for Nervous System Trust
(Tap collarbone)
"Even though my nerves are frayed, these essential oils are my allies."
"Even though I’ve been hurt before, I now choose gentleness instead of pain or self-harm."
"I let my body rest—it knows how to heal."
Tapping techniques can be used to help with a fearful or addictive situation, my use of Essential Oils became a health negative as I was sensitive to many of them… but which?
Essential oil learning curve:
Phase 1 → "Try all the oils!" (RIP your poor liver).
Phase 2 → "Oops, some are weapons." (Respect for phenols dawns).
Phase 3 → "I craft blends that love me back." (Mastery).
**The advantage of using essential oils within a very restricted diet, is that a few of the essential oils can be used to add flavor and health to a bland diet that can’t include the whole food due to varied special diet reasons. I can’t eat carrots due to vitamin A/carotenoids but I do seem able to handle Carrot Seed oil (Young Living sells one). I can’t eat any pickles, dill or any fermented (high histamine foods) but I can enjoy Dill seed oil and it tastes just like dill pickles.
TRP channel activators still seem to be a migraine trigger for me though and that excludes some essential oils and healthy foods. Why bother? Because an excess of phenols or salicylate or histamine can cause severe mental illness type symptoms and scattered or irrational thinking, paranoia, ‘panic attack’ feelings. …. Much better to not do that to oneself or anyone you have to try to live or work with.

🌿 "Gentle Dill Delight” *good on salad (add to one ounce carrier oil in a dripper bottle, MCT oil or olive/other edible oil)
Dill (20 drops)
Carrot seed (6 drops)
Ginger (4 drops)
Total phenol load: ~4
Savory Soup or Salad flavor drops
Caraway Seed ~ 10 drops
Carrot Seed ~ 6 drops
Rosemary ~ 10 drops
Salad or Mexican flavor drops
Cilantro ~ 20 drops
Carrot Seed ~ 10 drops
Lemongrass ~ 6 drops

Sometimes things don’t work out, we spent money or time only to find out that it caused pain or other problems. Giving oneself permission to throw away or give away - BUT to STOP doing the thing that didn’t work can be hard sometimes when we were raised with frugal parents and ‘Waste not, want not’. If using something adds to your inflammation, than it is more wasteful to overload your body with inflammation than to throw or give away the inflammatory substance.
Essential Oils are medicinal but also so potent that they can be dangerous to mental or physical health, especially when gene differences or health prevent normal breakdown and excretion of the potent phytonutrients. Too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing.
3. Tapping Script for Essential Oil Closure
(While discarding old or problematic essential oils, tap karate-chop point)
"Even though I spent money on these, my health is priceless."
"Even though I liked their scent, they didn’t like me back."
"I release what harms me with gratitude for the lesson."
4. Tapping Script for Low-Phenol Confidence
(Tap collarbone while blending)
"Even though phenols scare me, I now wield them wisely."
"Even though I’ve been burned before, I learn from every drop."
"I trust my 6% rule—it keeps me safe and flavorful."
5. Tapping Script for Confident EO Use
(Tap collarbone while blending)
"Even though EOs are potent, I respect their power."
"Even though my body is sensitive, I learn its language."
"I trust myself to create flavors that nourish and delight."
When to Avoid Even "Low-Phenol" Oils
During autoimmune flares (body is hyper-reactive).
If you’ve reacted to similar compounds before (e.g., clove → caution with cardamom).
When mixing with high-salicylate foods (e.g., berries, almonds).
6. Tapping Script for Cosmic Stillness
(Tap third eye while visualizing stillness or darkness)
"Even though I’m pulled outward, my power is in my rest."
"Even though chaos orbits me, I am the unmoved mover."
"I am the fulcrum. The universe leans on my silence."
7. Tapping Script for Fulcrum Consciousness
(While applying Cedarwood or other mental clarity essential oils, tap sternum)
"Even though I forget my center, I am the fulcrum."
"Even though motion tempts me, power is in Rest."
"I am the imagining. I am the hands. I am the Beauty."
The email:
“Good morning,
Our friend and tapping practitioner Gene Monterastelli is doing something a little crazy in a couple of weeks. He has put together a 24-hour live online event featuring 28 tapping practitioners and transformational experts from all over the world, and we are part of them!
The 24 Hours of Tapping event will start at 3 PM Eastern time on Friday, July 18th and run until 3 PM on Saturday, July 19th.
Each expert will share their wisdom and experience in presentations on health, relationships, building confidence and self-esteem, taking consistent action towards your goals, and how to use tapping at the most difficult times in life...to name just a few of the topics on the schedule.
The best part of the event is that it is absolutely FREE!
You might be asking yourself, "Why would someone decide to be on camera for 24 straight hours doing interviews?"
That's a great question!
First, all the participating speakers want the world to be a better, healthier place. This event is an opportunity for us to gather as a global community to learn and tap together. (There will be lots and lots of tapping!)
Second, the 24 Hours of Tapping event is a fundraiser for the Peaceful Heart Network, an inspiring organization that has taught approximately 300,000 people to tap in some of the most challenging conditions you can imagine. PHN works with people in war-torn countries and serves refugee communities all over the world. During the event you will get a chance to hear about their incredible work.
To sign up for this amazing free event visit: https://24HoursOfTapping.com
On entering your email address, you will receive:
The complete event schedule and timings
The live stream link to join the event
Free daily bonus training in the week leading up to the event
Two grounding tap-along audios you can download right away
MOST IMPORTANTLY: By signing up you will also get access to replays of all the presentations after the event. That means you can watch all of the presentations that air in the middle of the night for your time zone without sacrificing your sleep.
This is a great chance for you to deepen your knowledge of tapping, meet some trainers and practitioners you haven't encountered before (along with some you already know and love!), and make a huge difference for those served by the Peaceful Heart Network.
What are you waiting for? Sign up now to join us:https://24HoursOfTapping.com
We hope to see you there!
Sue and Emma

Brave AI summary about gene alleles associated with phenol sensitivity (whether diet ingredients or medications - someone with a phenol sensitivity may feel like “they can’t tolerate meds well” either.
Phenol intolerance is associated with genetic polymorphisms in the phenol sulfotransferase (SULT) genes, particularly SULT1A1 and SULT1A2. These enzymes are responsible for the sulfate conjugation of phenolic compounds, and variations in their activity can lead to differences in the metabolism of such substances.
SULT1A1 and SULT1A2 have been shown to have multiple alleles, with some variants associated with reduced enzyme activity. For example, the SULT1A1*2 allele has been linked to significantly decreased levels of both TS PST activity and thermal stability in blood platelets. Similarly, SULT1A2 has a series of common alleles that encode enzymes with functional differences, contributing to individual variations in phenol SULT properties in the liver.
In addition, other genes such as DAO (diamine oxidase) and HNMT (histamine N-methyltransferase) are also involved in the metabolism of biogenic amines, including histamine, and their genetic variations can contribute to conditions like histamine intolerance. However, the specific focus on phenol intolerance is primarily linked to SULT1A1 and SULT1A2.

Love the essential oil info too. They have been one of my allies for many years. Always more to learn though! Ever tried copaiba? I find it useful for pain relief. Thanks again! 🙏💖
