Cognitive dissonance, training, confusion, transformation.
Repetitive messaging entrains conflicting thoughts, leading to confusing feelings, and then changed beliefs to the entrained thought.
Cognitive dissonance - roughly - two conflicting "truths" are present in a person’s mind, and one is denied because it is so uncomfortable to face. Maybe the person did something that they are ashamed of and need to rationalize that they are still a good person who would never do that.
At a society level media messaging may be promoting a theme that goes against the average person’s core values and that person listening might feel uncomfortable - cognitive fingernails against the chalkboard - ouch! In situational comedies the group is used to promote a shift in belief towards the new theme. One character is expressing the old belief and the rest of the group laughs, mocks, disagrees, and are showing solidarity with each other. By the end of the episode the lone standout is now agreeing with the group, that old belief is no longer okay - accepting the new belief is the cool thing to do. It is the lone standouts that can help disrupt group think/mass formation psychosis/mass psychosis and show the group that there is another way to think or act and it might be a better way.
(*Mass formation psychosis is just a trendy new phrase for an old concept. Ask why in a time of extreme censorship that one person is being promoted as the one who knows about this topic - um, no, really old topic, much studied. Mass psychosis is used in authoritarian takeover purposefully and current media is very purposeful in its messaging. Be suspicious of anyone who isn’t being heavily censored at this time, especially when part of their message is that No, no one is controlling media messaging in a way that promotes mass psychosis - um, yes they are.)
Addition: “Mind control attempts to use fiction to shape reality, as the conspirators seek to move others into a dream world through comics, literature, television, movies, opera, or religion.” - FightingMonarch.com, Operation Valkyrie
Repetitive messaging by the media/government/What’s that playing on the radio?/etcetra, is like brain-washing - sinking into our thought patterns whether we believe the repeated mee or not. Once it is embedded though, it may lead to some conflicting feelings with previous held beliefs.
Vigilantism has been a subtle message of the propaganda for a couple decades - shun the crazy parents of autism children who crazily claim their child changed after vaccines. Arrest them even! or take away their children because they neglected to get more vaccines!
Shunning is a primitive tactic for controlling a group. Beware going against the group or you to will be cast out.
“Still, many of these considerations were out of our control. Whether or not we got the vaccine was one of the few areas where we had an actual choice. In the United States, at least, they still did everything they could to make that choice as difficult as possible.
“Sure, you’re free not to get the vaccine—but you’re a bad person, and we will do everything in our power to ostracize you from society.””
The Unvaccinated Deserve Reparations, Dominick Sansone, (theepochtimes.com).
In a hierarchy of punishment, in a primitive culture, shunning was second only to murder by a group. Being isolated was almost equivalent to a death sentence because it is hard to survive on your own. How many dandelion greens or rabbits can you catch today?
Shirley Jackson vividly reminds us of stoning in the short story The Lottery. Every year the town randomly selects someone to be the scapegoat and then they all take out their angst by throwing stones at the scapegoat. Is publicly venting anger a need for crowd control? Do politicians need to keep loudly blaming an enemy to promote solidarity in the citizens? Unity is not possible without an enemy to organize against? Sadly that seems to be the case.
Negativity is more emotionally stimulating and therefore seems to be more motivating (in advertising at least) to promote action. “Everything is going great! (…we can relax and take it easy).” versus “We have Trouble in River City with a capital T.” … take action! (- The Music Man, a lyric from a musical)
I was encouraged to read the chapter Luke in the Bible and it was helpful. We are to forgive the repentant as Jesus and our Holy Father would. Shunning because of sin was not the way of Jesus, he forgave the sins of the faithful and repentant.
A society that is encouraging shunning is not walking in the ways of the Lord. Whose path is society following then?
Just something to think about.
“I took the path less traveled…” from Robert Frost's 1916 poem, "The Road Not Taken."
Has society been nudged down the wrong path? Towards more primitive behavior? And by whom? For what goals? Promoting acceptance of quarantine of unvaccinated? For diagnosing them mentally ill and force vaccinating? that is beginning to happen in some places (need ref). Normal policy is not in play any longer and hasn’t been for a while. The new gain of function research is a disturbing sign that those in power are still playing God with genes. They aren’t doing a good job with their gene “therapy”, in case anyone has failed to notice the suddenly disabled and suddenly dead rate. If the government wants to force nanochip you and your children - are you okay with that? It only seems to kill a percentage fairly quickly, so we should all be okay with that….

Good thoughts.
Labelling misplaced trust as psychosis seemed to me an overloading issue. Psychosis is a diagnosis. How can one apply such a diagnosis en masse? Using catchy phrases only encourages skepticism by those who have simply trusted the wrong "theory."
Instant access to information has certainly come with drawbacks.
