Cheerful Juice - good stuff - worth producing for sale.
I feel better and more cheerful and my scalp feels better.
My mix for Cheerful Juice is remade with a few additions and I quite like it. Refreshing with a mild flavor and sweetness and satisfying in a “I needed that” kind of way — meeting an internal craving.
Sections in the post:
Making my Cheerful Juice recipe into bulk recipe, and pricing it as a potential product. It has calming potential for anxiety symptoms and would help support a vegan diet (*but probably isn’t “vegan” sourced amino acids - I avoid animal products because of autoimmune reasons - and that may have added to my recent hair loss as I had just tried a fish-based collagen supplement for about a week). Some selfies/funny hair pics are included.
Double checking the amino acids limited in a vegan diet - Brave AI *It is low in lysine if you eat more nuts/seeds and low in methionine if you eat more beans and vegetables. Too much focus on grains may leave a vegan diet low in lysine, tryptophan, and threonine.

*topic for another post - Is Stevia a bad idea though? paleo mom says it probably is a bad idea, may upset our microbiome balance negatively. I looked up a little more on that topic and am not sure what I think yet. (thepaleomom.com/trouble-with-stevia/)
Cheerful Juice deserves to be a product that I could just buy, or just recommend to other people.
From search results for companies that produce Small Label/Private Label supplement products, it looks like I would need some money, enough to buy a minimum product order of ~ 1500 bottles/units. Private label products tend to cost at least ~ $50 or more, so I would need somewhere in the neighborhood of $75,000 minus retail profit margin. ~ 35% profit margin would mean I might need $48,750. Kickstarter funded projects cannot be “health products”. I set one up for citrus & pomegranate peel jam, since the FDA doesn’t let things be called ‘health products’ anyway. My Cheerful Juice mix is a protein supplement drink with a few other nutrients in the mix.
I modified my earlier blend into a single day serving and I fill the 36 oz bottle ~ 2/3rds and drink it in a few glasses over the day.
After some math, my ingredients for a 1500 serving batch, for me to make it myself with most of the ingredients purchased from PureBulk.com, it might cost me about $3292 $2340 for the ingredients ~ $2.19 $1.57/serving. » What price is not losing your hair worth? *Lower estimated price on the second batch, I modified the recipe a bit as I ran low on a couple items.
I still have some hair - I am working on the world’s longest comb over. I have thinned a lot and lost most of the hair at the temples and on the back of my head - friction maybe. It is hard to tell how much is growing back yet.
I noticed in the list of nutrient suggestions for Alopecia areata (this post) that I really just need to take my daily supplements and Cheerful Juice. My last batch of mix was working great for daily use - I was sticking with it, but then the mix oxidized and I put off throwing it away and making more. I seem to REALLY need dimethylglycine not only for my mood, but lack of it also seems to be a causal factor for the salicylate sensitivity.
My Cheerful Juice recipe is an amino acid supplement beverage mix. Similar type products might be the giant plastic tub of powder protein mix sold to weight lifters or for weight loss or meal supplement beverages. A 30 day supply might cost $30-70. Or you too could make your own mix based on your needs.
I have a gene allele affecting my need for Dimethylglycine, and therefore this mix is geared towards that need and is in support of vegan diet needs. The creatine monohydrate is supportive for anyone with slow methylation cycles for whatever reason, because remethylating creatine is a major use of methyl donors in our body, so that saves the methyl donors for something else.
An amino acid beverage mix product by Thorne costs $44 for 8 oz, $1.53/serving. (iherb) It has more variety of amino acids but in tiny amounts. The ‘serving size’ is 7.8 grams and it only provides 4 grams of protein in the tiny amounts of amino acids. Eat an egg instead and you would have some of all the essential amino acids. My mix made a 24.4 gram serving which fluffed to 1/4 cup and provides 18 grams of protein in ~ two beverage servings. (iherb)
I forgot the cardamom in my latest mix, so that would take $60 out of the large batch price. I also need to make another batch to test the blend, my grams scale was set on gn (grain) and I didn’t notice until near the end - “One grain is equivalent to approximately 0.0648 grams” - (metric-conversions.org), so my mix has similar ratios but the grand total I am drinking may be less than my list below. It makes me cheerful though. My original unmodified blend had reminded me of red wine which made me cheerful until the migraine the next day. Tyramine may cause headaches or glutamate.
The extra riboflavin to prevent migraines is available in a product now and I have tried it. It seems to help. (migrelief.com/products/migrelief-original-formula-)
A funny hair pic from a few days earlier, enjoying it while I can.

structured water to fill the bottle (has diatomaceous earth) * It structured the water from the polyphenols and protein and electrolytes
18 grams of protein in total, 7 DMG, 1.5 Methionine, 1.5 Taurine, 2 Lysine, 1 N-acetyl cysteine. These would help balance a vegan diet adding threonine and tryptophan might be helpful and carnitine helps methylation (sometimes sold as ‘NAC’ N-acetyl carnitine - which is not NAC - N-acetyl cysteine. Some intestinal healing blends include glutamine but that can turn into the excitotoxin glutamate so I would be cautious trying it.

“Best Vitamin B Complex: Thorne Stress B-Complex - has methyl forms of folate and B12; niacinamide instead of niacin, and it has very inadequate choline.
Best Specialized Vitamin B: Jarrow Formulas Methyl B-12 Methylcobalamin Lozenges - This is a methyl B12 lozenge, which can help it be absorbed if there is stomach acidity issues.
Best Affordable Vitamin C: Nature's Bounty Vitamin C - 500 mg ascorbic acid, a basic supplement, it may be too much vitamin C if there is Gout or oxalate issues. ~ 250 mg is recommended as the limit if uric acid/gout or oxalate excess are issues
Best Fish Oil: Pure Encapsulations O.N.E. Omega - extremely expensive, gelatin capsule which may mean glyphosate capsule ~ I tend to use and recommend the liquid fruit flavored fish oil for Omega-3s.
Best Vegan Omega Fatty Acids: Nordic Naturals Algae Omega - cornstarch and carrageenan capsule - I would pass on this one too.
Best Probiotics: Klaire Labs Ther-Biotic Complete - broken link - Fullscript has that brand.
Best Marine Collagen: Hech Caviar Collagen Ruby Elixier - very expensive beauty product - 12 doses is $71
Best Prenatal Multivitamin: MegaFood Baby & Me 2 Pre-Natal Multi Vitamin - price is good, it has the methyl forms and some choline but could use more choline. The iodine and selenium are low for a prenatal product and the other trace minerals aren’t that great in this product either - but it is a decent product.
Best Herbal Sleep Supplement: Douglas Laboratories Brain Calm - broken link
Best Hair, Skin And Nails Supplement: Seabuck Wonders Omega-7 Complete - this looks like a good product and I had seen “Sea buckthorn” used for alopecia. This omega-7 fatty acid product uses Sea buckthorn oil as the source. It is reasonably priced too ($22.79/60 capsules, compared to the $71 items).
